The estate's first known owner was Tideka Tidekasson in Hede, who is mentioned in 1475. During the centuries that fikkwedm the estate had many owners and utilization areas.

Sveden was used as a salvation farm, official residence for the crown until the year 1646 when Queen Kristina sold the estate. With genealogy research, we have gained an insight into the estate's history.

Bergsmännen on Sveden

Our connection to the history of the Bergsmansgård Sveden begins when the estate was moved in 1744 from Hede to Sveden. The estate ended up in the Steinholtz family's possesion and remained as such for most of the 19th century. The Steinholtz are our distant relatives.

The property from Sveden as inherited and contained among other things, antiques in the form of Carolingian sabers, paintings, furniture and much more. Among these objects was a small collection of painted wooden houses. These wooden houses are the original houses from Sveden. .

The wooden houses inspired us to creat imitations of these old Swedish decorations, which were painted and sawn by hand a long time ago on the Sveden family estate.

Shape and color create harmony

The small houses radiated a calm and warmth around them like nothing else. We started working on a new series of the beautiful wooden houses so that relatives and friends could share the feeling we experienced.

When relatives and friends had the shelves filled with the small houses, Christmas presents were no longer enough the fill the demand for more and more houses in different colors. We founded Bergsmansgårdar Träkultur so that we could share the feeling with a wider family of customers and friends.
